Welcome to Tacking Point Public School, a great school situated in the Lighthouse Beach area of Port Macquarie.


The school was opened in 1996 and has already established a proud history of achievement and a high public profile.

A review of assessments, basic skills results, competition achievements and other indicators shows that our students achieve a very high standard in their academic endeavours. The school is also proud of the outstanding successes we have in sporting, cultural and performing arts areas. It is wonderful to see our students pursuing high standards in so many fields.

Our students take pride in themselves, their school and their school uniform. They are a very cooperative group of students to work with. Currently, there are 793 students enrolled.

Our school's highly professional teaching and administrative staff members are dedicated to the welfare, happiness and success of all Tacking Point students.

We welcome the participation of parents and families in school life. Not only do they add a great strength to our school but their involvement demonstrates to their children that they value education and support the school.
